Recently, went on a weekend trip to Galway – the city, that is.
I was in the county about five years ago, but we went straight to the Cliffs of Moher.
Galway has officially been designated the European Capital of Culture 2020 and I can definitely see why. There is so much detail in the city that you could tell that they exhibit a certain pride. There is so many things to do in the city and the surrounding county, I would recommend staying in for at least a few nights.
About 25% of the population there are students, so there is a lot of young people.
I didn’t have a chance to go to the Aran Islands but based on an anecdote from someone there, it sounded like it is worth a stop. Another person also cycled in the surrounding city.
