I extended an invite for a few people to join in on drinks at the Searcys top bar at the iconic landmark, The Gherkin. The invite was really only extended to a group of London marketing professionals and had some prompt replies back.

High Altitude Dining in London
The increased daylight hours have prompted a lot of us to stay outdoors – whether it’s the cricket, the beach, or enjoying a cool glass of drink outside the many venues here in London. Comprehensive online resources have been invested into – from the top 50 curated by bookatable right through to word of mouth of a colleague who knows someone who dined at a particular place. Cheers to summer!
Return the Urn
Never realised how great British sporting summer is until yesterday when we saw Day 1 of the second Ashes test with England vs Australia.

Luggage
I decided to go with check-in luggage only so that I can quickly whiz in and out of the airport. Visiting during the warmer months meant breezy clothes and therefore light packing.

Basel, Switzerland / Art Basel, Design Miami/Basel and Unlimited
I primarily went to Basel, Switzerland for Art Basel, Design Miami/Basel and Unlimited however it was great to have a brief walk around the city centre!

What is your take on constant nomads?
I don’t know if it’s just me. I have a set of principles that I go by, internally, and usually when someone doesn’t really adhere to these principles, it can leave me questioning things or even worse, absolutely annoyed.
Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes, a UK military charity, organised a Hero Ride event in central London today and this is what the main avenue leading to Buckingham Palace looked like. It was just two people who decided, five years ago, that they wanted to do something to help the wounded vets from Afghanistan and Iraq. It shows the power of what just a couple of people can do to help out! http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/
Dubai for Art Dubai
It looks like my photos from the 2013 art fair is not in my current archives. But will look for it once I have access to the photos!
New Year’s Eve in London
Same with my previous post about Christmas in London, there are a lot of different ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in London! I was tossing up with heading out to see the fireworks near the river or head over to Primrose Hill to see the fireworks. I opted to go to the Hill and was very glad that I did!
Christmas in London
Even doing the most mundane thing, such as heading out to go grocery shopping, can be magical with the Christmas decorations up and about. There is a lot of things to do in London and even if you don’t plan to do anything you can really get into the spirit that is Christmas.
The six laws of subtraction
New Years Resolutions seems to be about what to add to your year. But what about endeavouring to subtract instead? Business Insider published an article online giving ideas on ways to subtract from your life and I decided to use this article as a stimulus and as an opportunity to reflect on 2012.
Tips on mixing work with travel vagabonding
My trip during Canadian winter in 2010 was possibly the first time I’ve mixed work with travel vagabonding. After a several month long contract ended, I decided that I’ve had enough of Brisbane (for the summer anyway), didn’t feel like heading to Toowoomba (where I grew up)… and decided to buy a return ticket to Vancouver. This was also the first time I went overseas by myself.

Q&A from Emerging Digital Marketer (looking to move from Brisbane to London for career development)
Early October this year, I received an email from an emerging digital marketer currently based in Brisbane and researching their options to develop their career overseas, in particular the UK. They will remain anonymous 😉 and here’s a slightly reworded of my email exchange with this individual…
Tips on renting and sharehousing in London
I’ve been renting and sharehousing (or flatsharing) since I was 18 when I had to move out of Toowoomba and then to Brisbane for university. I’ve had some fairly interesting experience in Brissie – ranging from flatsharing with three guys (2 French, 1 Portugese) to four people (that was in such a state of flux because of the traveller ratio that I would get maybe one new flatmate every 1-2 months) to family friends and then colleagues. But, this was Brisbane. London is kind of a different ballgame and people have different experiences.
Marrakech travel tips
Marrakech is an interesting but nonetheless quiet a difficult city to travel. Why Marrakech and Morocco? I wanted to go somewhere fairly left-of-centre and to also travel somewhere in Africa and felt that Marrakech would be a good introduction in terms of getting to know this continent. Morocco is not the first country that I have been to when Islam is the predominant religion but my last country was ages ago.
Living in a Transition City
London is a city of many transitions.
What makes a home?
In between moving out of my old flat and into a new one, it was quiet rocky. I decided to make the most of it – an excuse to be a ‘tourist’ in London by staying in two different hotels in two nights before staying over at a friend’s before I was able to move in to my new place.
